Finally, the paint is on!

My SoHo has been set up for quite a while now. But it's not until today that we finally had the walls painted!

Of course the whole thing is not quite completed. We still have to do up the window blinds and most likely take away the grills of the doors so that what is left is just plain glass door that open up to the garden outside. :) I also have a beautiful red oil painting to put up in place of the poster on the olive wall.

But in the meantime, I'm pretty happy with the warm olive green and silver mist shade. It surely makes working more cosy and pleasurable.. ;)

Spot the dog!
The wall at the entrance has also been painted.. spot the dog!

Jelly's so pretty (and fat)

Dog-narcissist post :p

Jelly's fur was getting so long and curly and even blocking her sight.

So on Monday, I finally took her for her grooming session...

After spending a couple of hours there... Voila!!

How different she looks!! but still the same (fat) size.. :p

Have feet will travel!

Must confess I stole this idea (my feet and the sea) from jellybeanbabe, who was so helpful to give me some useful tips on Krabi as she went last year!

These are just some of the hundreds of shots I took on the trip - where we went island hopping to Phi Phi islands and the Four islands - which names to me were just quite complicated :p

The sea was beautiful but alas the weather wasn't.. nevertheless for someone who adores the sea, it's worth the visit. The only slight disappointment is how Maya Beach (where The Beach was shot) had become over commercialised - too many boats and there were quite a lot of garbage being washed off shore!

More pix and write-up to follow..

Above the Clouds...

I captured these photos from the bus while going down the mountain from Genting Highland.

It's quite a rare and breath-taking sight! It's as if we're above the clouds - which actually was thick fog and yeah, the ride became quite foggy later on..

Ahhh.. The beauty of nature!

Big Jin and me

I met a Great Dane when went for an interview assignment last week. I've never touched nor played with a Great Dane before. He is huge.. but quite mild manner and mellow.. unlike my two hyper dogs!

His name is Jin - short for `Gui Jin' - from Hokkien (there's a story behind how he came about but too long to tell here :p) He is 3 plus, a well-travel dog as he gets to go with his master everywhere!

During the photo shoot, we requested that Jin would be in the photograph together with my interviewees, who are a family; and he ended up upstaging his owners and became the centre of attention!

I believe the photos will look good with such a handsome dog in it. Even I couldn't resist taking photos with him!

Make-Me-Over

Before i post on my fascinating Bali trip, here is a narcissist `commercial break'.

Came across a Loreal promotion at MVM yesterday. It was really quite a good promotion and on top of the free products is a free make-over photo shoot! I thought why not go for it just for fun. Ok, i did get distracted and didn't end up going to gym after all.. :p

So, about half-an-hour of make-up, hair-styling and putting on a coat of my choice, I was instructed to do a few `vain-like' poses by the photographer..

Ta-Da!

This was the best of the lot (about a dozen poses with two outfits) Someone commented I look like a movie star! Hehe. that's how much make up and photoshop touch up could do!

I was given a A4 size print of the above, but I need to pay another 10 bucks to have the CDrom.

Incidentally I had gone for a make-over photoshoot in late 1997 when I interviewed Starz Image Consultant (now no longer here). Having the perks of a journalist, I was offered a free make-over which took 3 hours all in - made me feel like I'm taking a bridal shoot sans a groom! And yes, i have an album full of photos in many different images, costumes and poses.
(unlike Loreal, we were just given one free but need to pay a lot more for more prints)

Here is one that I scanned into my computer (at that time, CDRom wasn't popular yet)

Hmm.. looking at it, I think I hadn't aged much in 10 years eh? what u say? ;)

Tutty Fruitty from Aussie!

Dad and mom brought back some lovely fresh fruits from Australia last Thurs.. They looked so pretty I thought of taking some photos.

Most of them have been consumed by now.. yep, they were delicious - sweet and juicy! :p

A box of Cherries

..and a box of Mangoes

Since I am in the mode of posting pix.. might as well let y'all have a look at our Christmas Tree this year.. I managed to put it up by end of Nov! This year round didn't buy any new ornaments so considering it's recycled stuff.. I think it doesn't look too bad at all! ;)

Was playing aroudn for different effects with my digital cam.

1. with `indoor mode' (with flash)

2. with `night-mode' (no flash)

Pix filler

Gave up writing a post on dad's birthday dinner tonite. It was taking ages to uploads the many pix! Well, that would come later. In the mean time, here is just a `narcissist filler post' with a couple of pix showing my new hair-do ;P

This was taken at dinner just now

With Tan Soo Suan, the resident soprano of Dama Orchestra and my (occasional) vocal teacher! This lady has an amazing voice! Just finished an interview on their upcoming production `Butterfly Lovers'.
