恭贺新禧!

Time flies.. the Year of the Tiger has dawned on us!!

As I'm typing this, still with a full stomach after a heavy reunion dinner feast, fire-crackers have been resounding loudly and unceasingly from around the neighbourhood! The Chinese customs and traditions are well alive at least in this part of the Kuala Lumpur suburb..

Maybe I'm getting old and jaded, I don't feel at all excited even no matter how beautiful the fireworks are.. In fact, I hope they will stop soon as I need to sleep real soon to get up early to church - will be leading songs tomorrow, on the 1st day of CNY!

The few days that followed will see quite a lot more feasting.. gosh I must have some restraint and not let myself put on weight after all the hard work! It'll also be a time of fellowship with relatives and friends, but I can't really be taking a proper break as some deadlines are looming!

Well.. here's wishing one and all a happy and blessed lunar new year! May the Year of the Tiger be a roaring good one! Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Have I Lost It?

It's the eve of CNY and I have a relisation. I think I've lost it as a blogger.. :(

I don't know whether it's to do with other distractions - like Facebook's Pet Society, or that I have lost the passion for writing, or I've just have no inspiration to blog altogether because my life is getting so mundane..

I really don't know..

I think the only thing I could do is just to leave it and spare all the torture of incoherent boring ranting of nothing significance at all..

Sigh..

Well, it 's CNY after all.. So, to those of us who are celebrating the new year of the Ox, Jess' 2 Js wishes you Gong Xi Fa Cai and and a blessed year ahead..

Hope to see you soon..

Yes.. it's Christmas!! And in a week's time, we'll be ushering in the year 2009!!

I'll be driving up to Penang with my sis and her kids over the Christmas hols.. and we will be joining my cousin and her family there for two nites. Although I'll miss Christmas service and a friend's Christmas party, but having Christmas by the beach is also quite cool for a change!.. and most importantly, is having fun and spending time my sis, nephews and niece who live in Hong Kong. It's not common that they're back here for Christmas..!

I've spent most of Christmas eve in the kitchen cooking up a storm! I had decided to host dinner for the family and features a pretty traditional Western menu. Besides the roast turkey that I ordered, also attempted rosemary roast rack of lamb - which recipe I got from my friend. It turned out really good!! Then for starters, did the tried and tested yummy fresh mushroom soup. Also made cous-cous, pumpkin, broccollis and carrots as sides.. Gosh we were so stuffed. And for once the turkey tasted succulent and nice!

Too tired and lazy to post photos up.. perhaps later..

Will try (but I must!) do a year-end review soon.. in fact, there are some exciting things to share as well as all the merry-making at this festive seasons!

In the mean time, here's wishing everyone a blessed Christmas and happy new year! :)

Here Comes the PIG (Year)!

Lets not be politically (or more like religiously)- correct. We are ushering in the Year of the Pig. don't know why in the media or malls or anywhere else in this part of the world it is called `Boar' instead.

Well, for a Chinese literate, the Chinese word denotes the domestic pig - the animal that is fat, lazy but smart, and reared mainly to be eaten.. If it's meant to be boar, that the word should be `San Zu' (mountain/wild pig), and not just `Zu'.

Ok, now i got that out of the way.. :p

So here I'd like to wish all friends, relatives and Jess' two Js' readers a very Blessed, Healthy and Joyous Year of the Pig!

Gong Xi Fa Cai and Happy New Year!

p.s. Hope you like the fresh look - as this blog undergoes a make-over in conjunction with the Lunar New Year! :)
